The odds of harvesting the fruits of the pumpkin vine labor was looking dim. And yet the plants somehow managed to pull off what they view as: "we must endure...we must survive!" I think they learned to swim.
Somehow I slopped in the field and hauled several pumpkins and winter squash out of the garden. Sadly, this happened 2 months too early in late JULY! Once again the random internet info saved the day. They cured in the sun before being stored in the basement till now when nobody but me (and you) know they weren't just picked from the local Lowe's garden center. That's right! I grew the majority of that fall display pictured above. All it needs now is that creepy motion sensor witch to stand over it.
