Rain, rain go away.Come again some other day.
Like a day NOT on the weekend.
Or... give me 1 day in between so the raised bed will dry enough to put the seed potatoes in the dirt??
Well, turns out last Friday was that day. It finally came after 2 weeks of waiting.

But....prior to planting, proper preparation of the potatoes must be done. Cut seed potatoes into pieces or several pieces depending on size making sure several sprouting things "eyes" are on each piece. Do this several days before planting and give the pieces time to "scab" over. Who knew?
Fast forward to Friday.
All the pretty potatoe pieces are in the rows. I've read it doesn't matter which direction, but being the OCD fool I am, I mostly put scabby cut side down and covered with some dirt which was heavily amended with mushroom compost. I must admit I've never planted potatoes. I know there will be heavy mulching in the days and weeks to come and probably the invention of something to keep all the mulch going vertical and higher.
